The four-year Fashion Design course is the key course of Harim’s educational offer. Its study plan is constantly in line with rapid changes in the fashion market and that’s the reason why this course is the most popular among students. The educational path of this course ranges among different subjects, from fashion design to aspects related to the communication of fashion products. Subjects, indeed, allow to a complete “journey” in the Fashion System, providing a full and competitive training suitable for both the national and international labor market. An approach that is both theoretical and practical provides student with a lot of different skills to start a successful career as fashion designers. Bearing in mind this important goal, Harim hires its teachers among professional of the sectors, able to transfer their experience to students.

Giving voice to the designer’s view, valuing the artistic idea and the talent: this is the aim of Harim Euromediterranean Academy. In Harim teachers follow the designer in scouting, planning and in the realization of the collection, getting focused on the esthetic and styled concept. From a maximum initial creativity, that incentivities the students in scouting concepts of the first fashion collection, we offer also a constantly study of fashion system to make concrete creative ideas. The joung fashion designer’s style is analyzed, customized, made accesible to propose a final product that is contemporary and focused on fashion’s market interess.

Admission to the Fashion Design course

Italian and foreigners citizens with a high school diploma or a degree can enroll to this course. The maximum age is 25. This course is for a limited number of students only which have to pass an aptitude test and a preliminary interview. You can make a reservation for the selections at any time of the year, by phone or by e-mail.

Extracurricular activities

Harim provides and support students in the participation in many extracurricular activities such as contests, exhibitions, events, professional opportunities, both during and after the course itself. The link between the Academy and the Harim Network is a key element in the creation of interesting professional opportunities for students to increase their visibility, like for example the MADEINMEDI, an annual event during which young emerging talents have the chance to show their first collections. The Academy has also its Placement Service that provides students with interesting work and study opportunities. In particular activities carried out by this office are:

  • Collaborations in events backstage
  • Participation in photo-shoots as Stylist assistant
  • Collaboration with the online magazine Harimag
  • Talent scouting
  • Working as hair models, hostesses or promoters for the Castdiva agency.

Duration of the course
The Fashion Design course is four-year long. The academic year starts in October and ends in May. The educational program offers a full immersion of 24 hours a week (8 hours a day three times a week). This program is suitable for non-resident students. Our information office is at students’ beck and call for advices about the choice of the course and the planning accommodation of non-resident students. During the academic year, the competence of the student is constantly evaluated with oral exams and projects.
Job opportunities
The fashion design course provides a complete knowledge of the Fashion System, one the main sectors of the made-in-Italy industry, where companies are constantly looking for experts of the field. Important professions in this professional sector are for example fashion designer, visual merchandiser, fashion photographer, fashion journalist, personal shopper and stylist. After this course, students can also work as freelancers or in style and technical offices of companies of the sector.
Graduation release
At the end of the course, a four-year Fashion Design diploma is released to students.
Post-curricular area
Our placement service helps students select and evaluate job and internship proposals and helps them create their CV and portfolio in Italian and in English. It is a complete placement and guidance service that works with students in order to let them take part in international contests, events and sector fairs.
