Introduction

The annual Interior and Product Design course of Harim is suitable for those who already have a basic knowledge of the interior and industrial design and want to improve it and keep up-to-date on new technologies. A key requisite to take part in this course is being familiar with software of CAD technical drawing and having some basic knowledge of descriptive geometry. The main goal of the course is training who wants to become a designer able to design housing spaces, objects and furniture, with particular attention to functional and practical aspects.

The annual Interior and Product Design course focuses on the most technical aspects of housing, providing students with all competence needed to correctly adapt furniture to the inside of a house, to calculate the minimum space to move, to arrange pieces of furniture and lighting in a functional way. Particular attention is given to materials and technologies furniture is created with. Form, dimensions, materials CAD systems, rendering processes and communication dynamics are the main topics of the course.

Admission to the Interior and Product Design course 

Italian and foreigners citizens with a high school diploma or a degree can enroll to this course. This course is for a limited number of students only which have to pass an aptitude test and a preliminary interview. You can make a reservation for the selections at any time of the year, by phone or by e-mail.

Duration of the course
The Interior and Product Design course is one-year long. The academic year starts in October and ends in May. The educational program offers a full immersion of 16 hours a week (8 hours a day two times a week). This program is suitable for non-resident students. Our information office is at students’ beck and call for advices about the choice of the course and the planning accommodation of non-resident students. At the end of the academic year, the competence of the student is evaluated with oral exams and projects and students are rated.

The designers to-be are able to combine technique with beauty, technology with tradition, functionality with elegance. Thanks to their well-grounded knowledge of productive processes and design systems, students can work in furniture design and production companies and in companies specialized in particular settings. Working as freelancers or for public authorities are other possibilities.
Graduation release
At the end of the course, an annual Interior and Product design diploma is released to students.
